With the influx of competition from Public Charter Schools and a poor reputation, DC Public School’s was in dire need for a branding makeover. After the consolidation of nearly a dozen schools, the leadership of DCPS was concerned with a massive migration of students to the charters. With the help of Widmeyer Communications, I developed a School Marketing and Student Recruitment Toolkit; marketing collateral including: flyers, posters, door hangers, postcards; and a plan to effectively and efficiently disseminate materials. This marketing effort was launched as pilot program for the 18 receiving schools. As an extra service to the school system I created websites for several of the schools with an outdated website or no website at all.
